Part of the appeal of skiing or snowboarding in Morzine is being right in the heart of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area, and having access to three of those resorts from the centre of town.
Before you decide which slopes to whizz down for the day, you’ll need to choose the best lift pass for your holiday.
We get asked questions about ski passes all the time so here are our answers to all your queries about lift passes for Morzine, Les Gets and the Portes du Soleil.
What ski areas can I access with what pass?
We know, it can get a bit confusing! Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz are three separate resorts, and all part of the Portes du Soleil ski area which covers 12 resorts in total.
The slopes of Nyon and Pleney make up the Morzine ski area, and are well connected to Les Gets. Due to this, there’s also a local area pass available specifically for Morzine-Les Gets.
Morzine-Les Gets
Covering 120 km of pistes, this pass gives you access to the resorts of Morzine and Les Gets with a total of 47 ski lifts, 71 runs and 2 snow parks.
You can start exploring the area by taking the Pleney télécabine right from the centre of Morzine, or catching the free navette to the Téléphérique de Nyon which is minutes outside of town.
Avoriaz
Perched on the mountain tops above the Vallee d’ardoisiers, Avoriaz can be accessed from the Super Morzine lift or taking the free navette from town up to Prodains. With 70 km, 53 runs, and 4 snow parks, Avoriaz is also the gateway to the rest of the Portes du Soleil area.
You can get an Avoriaz specific pass for the snow parks or for a few hours, but really if you want to ski in Avoriaz you are best to go for the full Portes du Soleil pass.
Portes du Soleil
One of the biggest connected ski areas in Europe, the Portes du Soleil encompasses 2 countries, 12 resorts, 291 runs, 208 ski lifts, 30 snow parks and covers 650 km of pistes.
It doesn’t matter where you want to ski or what lift you get on - it’s all covered with this pass!
