The Season Starts

The season has now rumbled into life here in Morzine, the Portes du Soleil and for that matter Doorstep Skis. A Bluebird powder day kicked off proceedings last weekend 04th/12 which was more than welcome. The previous week had been bucketing down with snow and everyone in resort was itching to get up there and make some tracks.

You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out that a base building up so early is a good thing regardless of whether you got to ski it that weekend or will have to cool your boots until your ski holiday comes around later in the season. Hopefully the weather has started as it means to go on, cold and snowy!

The Doorstep ski team have been blowing the cobwebs away (returning staff) and getting the new guys into line (and by new we mean to Doorstep, all have previous ski tech experience and have multiple seasons behind them). The local seasonnaires working for our partner chalets, who will be serving you up with your gourmet chalet super, have been kitted out with their skis and snowboards.

This weekend was again a good ski weekend, yesterday was the pick of the days with sunshine skies, today a little more cloudy. The snow is mint on account of those cold temperatures, perfect for blasting around the pistes and in places a little off piste too.

We have begun to fit out our first early bird guests with our mostly new stock and are getting some favourable reports back on the new range of skis we have on offer. Everyone’s a winner but enough for now…tune in next time.
