Don't call it boarding-apparently!

Nice quirky article on the Whitelines website arguing the merits of calling snowboarding 'boarding', or calling boarding 'snowboarding'. Get it. Our website's strap line reads 'skis and boards direct to your door' so I guess we come down somewhere in the middle, although, there's a movement in the Doorstep Skis camp to have everything labeled 'snowboarding'- you know who you are! Have a read at the article and see which side of the fence you come down on. h ttp://

In Deep

Our vote for best looking new ski movie for the 2009/2010 season goes to Matchstick's production- In Deep. Between hiring and repairing skis and snowboards we'll have this dvd on loop to get us pumped up for hitting the slopes.

El Niño Returns!

El Niño Returns to Morzine . According to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the climate is in an "El Niño" condition now and that condition is expected to last through Winter 2009/10. Both 1995/96 and 2005/06 were El Niño winters and ski participation levels for those seasons were excellent. Happy Days.
